Who are these people that live in Newport WA (North of Spokane) that are crazy dog people? We are the Smiths, (such an uncommon name!) Rintha aka Ren (the name she goes by in her day to day life) is the owner of Happy Tails, she was born and raised in Milton Freewater, OR and has always been an animal lover., since she was raised on a farm. Ren and her Husband live on 6 acres in the woods and just so happen to be in the center of a snow belt! So summers are short and Winters are long! Makes for a busy time when May arrives for outdoor property care and projects then when September comes, its a mad dash to prepare for snow! She has bred on and off all of her life, almost 40 years now. BUT the last 10 years, has committed to it full time and has been dedicated to raising healthy, happy Cockapoos and AKC Cocker Spaniels. Cocker Spaniels have always been a part of her life and her eldest daughter has just as much affection for them. Ren is very dedicated to her program and takes the happiness of the animals and the people to heart. These babies are raised in a way they have never known being cold or hungry. They are raised in a home, not a shop or a barn, or outside in the cold. There is much care, much worry, and so so so much time spent in what she does. Her husband, is retired from the Railroad and as much as he loves animals, he takes care of the home so that Ren can dedicate her time to the puppies and buyers. A few years back, she learned about the benefit of having guardian homes. It has been an amazing way to place dogs in their forever home while they are still a part of the program. When they retire, they all ready have their forever family. Many of the Moms and Dads you see do not live on property, they come here only for breeding purposes, but when they arrive, they remember Ren and are very happy to see her and go for a visit. Ren also has the help of her daughter, Kassi. Kassi does not live with Ren, she has her own full time career and home BUT she handles many emails, she is who sends out the paperwork, helps with the Websites and spreadsheets. She also when available enjoys doing the deliveries and meeting the new puppy parents!
